Privacy Policy
Law Point App website is owned by Noble Ventura PC, which is a data controller of your personal data.
We have adopted this Privacy Policy, which determines how we are processing the information collected by Law Point App, which also provides the reasons why we must collect certain personal data about you. Therefore, you must read this Privacy Policy before using Law Point App website.
We take care of your personal data and undertake to guarantee its confidentiality and security.
Personal information we collect:
When you visit the Law Point App, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the installed cookies on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.” Moreover, we might collect the personal data you provide to us (including but not limited to Name, Surname, Address, payment information, etc.) during registration to be able to fulfill the agreement.
Additional data processed through the LawPoint mobile application
In addition to the website-related information described above, when you use the LawPoint mobile application we may process the following categories of personal data:
Account data: email address, mobile phone number, password or authentication token, language preferences.
Profile data (for lawyers): name, contact details, bar association registration details, areas of practice, professional biography.
Location data (clients): approximate or precise location, when you grant the app permission to access Location Services, in order to match you with nearby lawyers and show relevant services. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings.
Case data: information you choose to share about your legal issue, including text descriptions, chat messages, voice notes, attachments, photos or documents.
Usage and log data: app events (such as opening the app, sending a request, contacting a lawyer), device information (device model, operating system version), crash logs and performance data.
Payment and billing data: if applicable, limited payment-related information in order to process fees, in accordance with applicable accounting and tax law. Payment card details are processed by our payment service providers and not stored in full by us.
Why do we process your data?
Our top priority is customer data security, and, as such, we may process only minimal user data, only as much as it is absolutely necessary to maintain the website. Information collected automatically is used only to identify potential cases of abuse and establish statistical information regarding website usage. This statistical information is not otherwise aggregated in such a way that it would identify any particular user of the system.
You can visit the website without telling us who you are or revealing any information, by which someone could identify you as a specific, identifiable individual. If, however, you wish to use some of the website’s features, or you wish to receive our newsletter or provide other details by filling a form, you may provide personal data to us, such as your email, first name, last name, city of residence, organization, telephone number. You can choose not to provide us with your personal data, but then you may not be able to take advantage of some of the website’s features. For example, you won’t be able to receive our Newsletter or contact us directly from the website. Users who are uncertain about what information is mandatory are welcome to contact us via support@lawpoint.app.
For what purposes and on what legal basis do we process your data?
We process your personal data only when we have a valid legal basis under Article 6 of the GDPR. In particular:
To create and manage your LawPoint account and provide the app’s core functionality (connecting clients with lawyers):
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
To match clients with nearby lawyers using location data (if you enable it):
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing an effective and relevant service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), combined with your consent for the use of Location Services at device level.
To enable communication between clients and lawyers, including chat and case data:
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
To maintain the security, stability and improvement of the app (analytics, logs, crash reports):
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in ensuring the security and proper functioning of our services (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
To comply with legal obligations (accounting, tax, regulatory requests):
Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
To send you service-related communications (for example, changes to terms, security alerts):
Legal basis: performance of a contract and/or our legitimate interest in informing users (Article 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) GDPR).
For optional marketing communications (if used in future):
Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time
Special categories of data and legal information
When you describe your case or upload documents in the app, you may choose to share information that relates to legal disputes, alleged criminal offences or other sensitive circumstances. This information is processed only to the extent that it is necessary for the provision of the service, namely to allow a lawyer to understand your situation and provide legal advice.
Such information is processed under Articles 9 and 10 of the GDPR, in combination with your explicit request for legal assistance and the legal obligations and professional secrecy duties of the lawyers who provide services through LawPoint. We apply enhanced technical and organisational measures (such as access controls and encryption in transit) to protect this data.
Lawyers as independent controllers
LawPoint acts as a platform that connects clients with independent lawyers. While Noble Ventura PC is the data controller for the operation of the app and platform, each lawyer who receives your data and provides legal advice through LawPoint generally acts as an independent data controller for the personal data they process in the context of providing legal services.
This means that lawyers are responsible for their own compliance with professional secrecy obligations and data protection law. If you have questions about how a specific lawyer handles your data, you may contact them directly.
How long do we keep your data?
We do not keep personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. In particular:
Account and profile data are kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, unless we are required to keep certain information for longer (for example, for tax or accounting purposes). Case data and communications are generally kept for up to 5 years after the last activity in the case, unless a longer period is required by law, or in order to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Technical logs and analytics data are typically retained for up to 12 months. Billing and invoicing data are retained for the period required by applicable financial and tax legislation.
Right to lodge a complaint
If you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.
In Greece, the competent authority is:
Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA)
Website: www.dpa.gr
Location data and notifications
The app may request permission to access your device’s location (for example, to match you with nearby lawyers) and to send you push notifications (for example, to inform you when a lawyer responds to your request).
You can control these permissions at any time through your device settings. Disabling location may affect the accuracy of the matching service, but you will still be able to use the app with limited functionality.
